Greenville Politics was created to share information about what is happening in well, Greenville politics. The name kind of says it all.
But why create it now?
That is an easy answer, but a long one. The local, traditional media does not do an overall good job of covering local politics. Sure, there are some stories when candidates announce for positions. And there are election results. But they barely tell the average local resident what this really means to them. They ask no hard questions. They don’t examine the real issues. They don’t cover the story in a way that people want to know. That people need to know.
The reality is there used to be great local political coverage in the Greenville media, but those days are gone for the newspapers, radio and television stations.
